[Cms-moe-list] jobs and MOE

Dear All 

Some of you will know that a jobs 'freeze' has been applied to the whole of the
University following the demise of SBS.
The situation regarding funded projects such as MOE (and REMIT) is unclear, but
I have made a business case to HR that MOE be made exempt from the freeze to
enable us to go ahead and recruit. I have also discussed the matter with my
Head of School.
Apparently, there are meetings taking place on Monday which may help to clarify
the situation a little more. Hopefully, the freeze will be lifted for projects
such as ours.
I am assessing two students who may be able to do some of the required work and
there are some more possibles in this area. However, it would be very helpful
if all of us could think of ways of getting people working on the project in
the short term. Creative thinking is the order of the day here.

I'll keep everyone posted on developments as they occur.
