BACKGROUND

With advances in Internet applications and technologies,
and particularly with the development of the World-Wide
Web, research on design, implementation, and management
of Internet and Web-based information systems has become
increasingly important. As more and more information of
various types becomes available on the Internet and Web,
query and retrieval as well as the management of Internet
information become extremely difficult.  Therefore
systematic approaches to develop and manage Internet and
Web information systems are in high demand.

This conference provides an international forum for
researchers, professionals, and industrial practitioners
to share their rapidly developing knowledge and report on
new advances in Web-based information systems.

We invite submissions that address both fundamental
issues of web data management and issues related to the
development and management of Web-based applications.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  Internet & Web-based
          agent systems;
          cooperative databases & cooperative information
          systems;
          data management;
          database & information-system integration;
          electronic commerce;
          information extraction;
          information services;
          information-system modeling, design & development;
          information visualization;
          support tools & languages for information-system
          development;
          search & filtering technology,
  XML and Semi-structured Data for Web Applications,
  Web Query Languages,
  Web Database Security,
  Web Applications,
  Web Content Standards,
  Data Dissemination Techniques on the Web,
