Fastforward: a partnership for media, business and education online
6 December 2001
BAFTA, Piccadilly, London

Fastforward is a half-day forum which will consider how multimedia and
communications technologies are developing now, and what impact this wealth of
new channels and resources may have on the relationships between the media
industries, business and education.

A distinguished panel of speakers will look to the future from the
various perspectives of broadcasting, production, media studies and
information and communications technology. They will identify key
issues and suggest ways in which the media industries, educationalists and
government might work together to meet the challenges of the information age.
Their presentations will be complemented by a showcase of the latest projects,
which illustrate initiatives now underway in commercial, professional and
academic environments.

The forum will bring together senior figures from film and television,
multimedia and communications, universities and libraries,
professional and government bodies. After the formal presentations,
speakers and delegates are invited to meet informally over drinks and look more
closely at a selection of exemplary new media projects.
