As part of International Finance and Enterprise Week (IFEW) there will be a
workshop and networking session for companies from the creative industries that
want to learn more about obtaining external investment.
This session will be supported by the Cultural Industries Development Service
and New Media Partners and will focus on the real life experiences of Investors
and companies in securing investment.
7 Hear from Chris van der Kuyl about securing venture capitalist funding for
VIS entertainment, the leading entertainment property development company
involved in the design and development of interactive games software and
provider of interactive content for interactive digital tv.
7 Janey de Nordwall of Silver Films Ltd will talk about how she secured
investment for her company and has since produced two award winning short
films, Jump and About a Girl. She and her Angel investor Don Hammond, a
banker by trade and now a business angel with investments in a number of
emerging companies, will tell the story from both sides
7 Emma Westecott previously involved as producer on Starship Titanic, Douglas
Adams best selling CD Rom, will be talking about a new concept in gaming which
has secured funding from NESTA (the National Endowment for Science Technology
and the Arts).
7 Kevin OGrady from 3i will talk about what one of the worlds largest venture
capital firms look for in a deal, his own experiences with creative companies
and what you need to know if youre interested in venture capital funding.
This seminar will run from 9.45am to 11.40am on 2nd November in the Cheshire
Lines Suite, Manchester International Convention Centre and will cost #50 plus
VAT.
Attendees will also have access on that day to the wider IFEW event including
over 100 regional, national and international exhibitors from the technology,
media and communication sectors plus access to free advice from experts in law,
accountancy and intellectual property.
IFEW is one of the most significant and creative international business
festivals to hit the North West of England. It will connect young and
developing businesses with leading venture capitalists, financial institutions
and international markets to create dealflow.
