A few short notes on progress...

1. Thanks to all those involved for their efforts at last night's 1st.
Thursday. There was a lot of positive feedback about the project and the
publicity materials.

2. The launch event is well on the way, but still requires a lot effort. The
invites are going out today and we need to make sure we all let our own
contacts know about the event.

3. The web site is live, but is still being rapidly refined. Please e-mail Tim
on tim.jones@exposuremedia.co.uk and Mark P. with any detailed comments and
requests. The site is not a completed entity and will continue to be refined
over the week or so.

4. Matthew Rhodes is joining us on Monday next to provide a support role for
the site developers and for general technical support for the team. He can be
contacted on matthew.rhodes@btclick.com if required. He has already done some
work in getting the CIDA content and link together for the site.

5. The input screens are especially important and we should all be using them
to input content for news, jobs etc. If there are any problems using these
screens please report it immedAt the recent Group 1 meeting we agreed the
following roles and responsibilities on content:

	- Everyone involved in the project should visit the site regularly and let
Tim/Mark/Matthew know of any problems.
	- There is a validation process in place for all new input - Sophie is looking
after news content, Tracy training, Karen portfolios. I need to talk to Ian
about his role with jobs. Kirsty is looking afetr the directory.

6. Kirsty has met with the CIBS team (Calvin Taylor) and I am writing to Leeds
University with a formal proposal regarding our use of their data. Thanks to
Kirsty for the work on this.

7. Ian Greenwood is leaving the project at the end of September. Currently he
is working at the City site making direct contact with SMEs in the more
technical end of our market. This should result in a list of contacts defined
by type of service use and output and registrations on the site. This
information is to be shared with Karen, Kirsty and Tracy, who are also
compiling lists of contacts and registrations. We can register all those who we
have lined up. As with content - registrations are crucial - the more the
better. Can all those with lists, please copy them to Jenny for recording.
Also, copies of agreement letters need to go to Jenny.

8. Accommodation - this continues to be a major headache. I am in continuous
negotiations with Catherine Annabel, School Manager at Psalter Lane, who is
doing all she can to help. I have also made a very strong direct plea to Roger
Hilyer, head of Cultural Studies - no reply as yet. I really do appreciate how
everyone is coping under very difficult circumstances on this score.
Accommodation does seem to be a University wide problem - I will not give up
pestering for better space.

9. Equipment - we now have all the kit we need apart from the mac and
soundforge s'ware. two new pcs are being installed in C310 and the others are
ready to go once we have the space. Karen has instigated a sign out book for
kit going off site. Please make sure you do sign equipment out, so that we
don't have insurance problems. jenny is compiling an inventory of all kit and
software. She will also store the cds for software.

10. Karen, Kirsty, Helen, Tracy and I will be networking and presenting at the
Digital Yorkshire launch event in Huddersfield on Monday - plenty of
opportunity to promote the site there. We will be sharing a promotional full
day event with the REMIT project at Sheffield University on 24th. October -
planning in progress. I am waiting for a date to meet with the REMIT
representative next week.

I think that's it for now....Apologies if I have missed anything - please mail
me if there is any item you think should be listed.
