Hullo everyone=20
Many thanks to Bob for raising queries about the second marketing =
assignment. I hope the following helps a little...
The main point of the assignment is to assess your ability to work =
through the process of preparing a marketing strategy. There is no =
sense
in which the final strategy might be right or wrong - it's the steps I =
am interested in. Of course, your ability to come to good conclusions
and recommendations based on the information provided is important - =
but there are always different suggestions from different people.
Therefore, some of the detail Bob is after is not important to the =
assignment itself. It would've been impossible for me to include all =
the
information in any case. Just do your best - and where info appears to =
be missing, just speculate a little (this might be particularly true
in terms of budgetary details). The Definitive Map is not available on =
Leeds' web site (nor, to my knowledge, is it digitised - although
things might have changed since I prepared the case study).=20
Some of Bob's queries are covered in the info however. The work =
undertaken under the `Development and Community` section is explained =
in
the material. There is also some mention of relationships with other =
departments - either explicit within the material, or `implicit` in
terms of the Council structure.=20
Hope this helps. Remember - you can send me a draft before submitting =
the final report (but don't do it through the discussion site - send
it direct to me personally).
Cheers
Lynn

To all on Prow2.

I am the very old guy. Thirty years in landscaping. Five years in
"Commons". I am on the Executive Committee of the Open Spaces Society,
Chairman of the Crooksbury Bridleways Group, I sit on the BHS Surrey
R.o.W. Committee and have spent the last year as a member of the Surrey
Pilot Local Access Forum.
=20
I am also glad to get the first assignment out. Now it s 2 x 3000
before Christmas - no time to work. I am glad that its dark early as I
might be able to get down to it.
=20
I am finding the case study full of holes on the information front. =
Has
anyone got access to Leeds C.C. R.o.W. Audited Accounts and latest
("002) or first (1998) Milestone statement or Audited Accounts for =
Parks
and Countryside 2001/2002. It would also help to find out what % of =
the
total highway budget is given to P.R.O.W. Why do four maintenance men
need four vehicles, why did they buy a compact tractor, who are they
phoning for =A32000, where does the balance of =A328,000 go, and what =
is
=A325,000 spent on in Development and Community?
=20
Other questions:
=20
Is the definitive map and statement digitised or on the L.C.C. website
as well as the public open spaces and commons.
Have the P.R.O.W. any cooperation with other departments responsible =
for
"other forms of countryside access within Leeds District"?
Anyone know the formulae for converting acres to hectares and what is
the size of England and Wales in sq.km.?
Anyone know what this or last years figures for "Best Value Indicators"
are for L.C.C.?
Finally re. D5 Appendix D what is the BT Countryside for All Standards
and Guidelines and where do I get a copy?
