This is a restricted discussion group for members (see below) of Experimental Music / Media Collective and MAXIS(EMC/MAXIS) + others with a shared interest in experimental, aesthetic approaches to sound and music making, including improvisation, self-built electronic or acoustic musical instruments, live performance, studio recording and written work. Our aim is to provide a network for individuals who wish to share ideas and information about sound and experimental music including technical matters, installations, gigs, performance opportunities, venues, forthcoming events, festivals, conferences, potential funding sources and information, academic and philosophical issues + other general topics of interest. Membership: Participation in this group is by invitation only. To join us you will require a nomination from an existing group member (please specify) and / or approval by the list manager(s). To post a message to all the list members, send email to emc@shu.ac.uk. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to EMC
Subscribe to EMC by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
